The Equity is excited to announce Dr. Eric Oseland as the company’s new Lead Agronomist! In his new role, Eric will provide technical support and recommendations to our Agronomy Sales Team for crop protection, identification of weeds, insects, and diseases, while also helping integrate proper pest management practices. Eric will also be heavily involved in the education and development of our newer sales team members.  With a background in weed science, he will be an asset to The Equity as we battle herbicide resistant weeds across our geography. Additionally, he will be conducting field trials for demonstration and education for employees and growers.

Eric earned his Bachelor’s degree in Crop, Soil, & Environmental Management from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale. Later, he pursued his Masters of science and PhD in Weed Science at the University of Missouri in Columbia.  Eric has spent time as a Crop Protection Technology Development Representative for Bayer, working in Indiana and Kentucky. Most recently, he served as the Director of Agronomy and Research for the Missouri Soybean Association and Merchandising Council.

The Equity is proud to have someone of Dr. Oseland’s caliber on the team. Eric’s education and experience will be essential for The Equity to continue providing sound recommendations for our customers who navigate challenging situations each season.

The Equity is pleased to announce that as of October 3, 2022, The Equity Farm & Home Store will open a second location. We will be operating in the former Home Center store located at 4 Do-It Dr, Altamont, Illinois that was owned and operated by the Mathias family for many years in the Altamont community. After many years in business, the Mathias family decided it was time to exit the retail business and felt it was a good transition to sell store inventory to The Equity who was already a member of the Do-It-Best franchise family and has a reputation for serving customers in our rural communities.
